We've had an unusually warm winter, which has progressed to an unusually warm March. It's been very spring-like this week, though we really have about a week and a half to go for official spring. It's that time of year when the plants come back to life. The trees in our yard and the adjacent yards have been budding for a few weeks now. I've been waiting for Green Day, when everything starts to turn green and fuzzy again. I noticed yesterday that the tree in front of our house finally had leaves on it. It's strange that it took until the end of April for it to happen, but then again it was a strange April. I noticed last weekend that our neighbors' bushes had started turning green. Nothing else around us had anything going on, which isn't surprising; those bushes tend to sprout earlier than anything else. I tend not to call Green Day until the trees around here get that green fuzzy look to them ( Read more... )

Between Friday and today, the vegetation decided to sprout leaves. Dad noticed yesterday that two of our little trees in the backyard had buds on them. This morning, on the way to school, I saw a number of trees that were starting to show green fuzz. Today's been sort of an odd day. French was fine, but after I left, it was too beautiful to go and spend an hour in the computer lab. That's what I've been doing, going and typing up French stuff so I can have cheat sheets on things.
